Park Permits
Your dog must have a permit to use the Park. Cost for an annual permit is only $25.00 and you can get a $5.00 discount
if you show proof of spay/neuter. You can get an additional $5.00 discount if your dog passes a recall test, which is given
periodically by K9COLA. This is pretty cheap fun when you consider you’d spend more than
this on a movie and treats in one night!Permits for 2008 are on sale beginning November 15, 2007 at Cedar Rapids Animal Control, which is very conveniently located just about a quarter of a mile past the Park on Cedar Bend Ln. (Remember, by January 1, 2008 your dog must have a blue tag!) You’ll have to fill out a simple form, sign a waiver, and show proof of your dog’s vaccinations (rabies, parvo, and distemper). For an additional $3.00 (shipping/handling), you can now order your permit by mail. Print off a permit form here to mail in (right-click to save). NOTE: This is NOT the same as a membership in K9COLA! Click on Join at the bottom of the page. If you do not have a permit for your dog and choose to use the park anyway, fines are as follows (per city code 23.31) -- figures here include fine, surcharge, and court fee:
Blue tags are good from date of purchase until December 31, 2008. The cost for permit tags is not pro-rated. New tags for the
following year usually go on sale sometime in November. You can buy a daily permit for your dog at Animal Control, or by taking advantage of the Honor Box located in the entry area at the Park; just fill out an envelope (be sure to have your vet’s name and phone number), enclose your money, and drop it in the slot! Daily permits are only $5.00; this is a great way to try out the Park a time or two, though we do encourage you to buy an annual tag, as this is how the City will measure Park usage and popularity. The daily permits are also an excellent way for out-of-town visitors to enjoy a romp with their canine pals. |
