Last Hope Animal Rescue is having a Wine Tasting Event Fundraiser! We will be at the 1st Ave Wine House, 3412 1st Ave NE Cedar Rapids on Friday, June 13th from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.. There will be a variety of wines as well as appetizers for you to sample. We will also be holding a silent auction. K9COLA will be participating in the Freedom Festival events this summer with our Dogs Gone Wild! celebration! Be sure to plan on visiting the Park on June 22 for all kinds of special events: check out our flyer (and feel free to print copies and hand 'em out to all your dog friends)! K9COLA will have a team of humans and their dogs participating again this year in the American Heart Association's annual Heart Walk, scheduled for August 9 at Kirkwood. Great News! The city has approved another dog swim at Bever Park Pool. K9Splash! will be held on August 23, 2008. Save the date and plan to join us for a fun-filled day. Red Cross Pet First Aid for Cats and Dogs—$30.00 per person. Classes offered at the following times:

August 26 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. in the Cedar Rapids Office (6300 Rockwell Dr NE)
November 3 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. in the Iowa City Office (373 E College St)

Additional classes can be arranged and scheduled privately for groups of 6 or more, held in either the Red Cross facilities or at an organization’s facility. For more information or to sign up for a class, please contact Dominique at 393-3500 or by email at brownd@grantwood-redcross.org.

The Cedar Rapids Kennel Association has joined with the Tri-City Kennel Club in order to bring the Dog Fancy, a four day show cluster over the Labor Day weekend. The new show cluster will be held Friday August 29 through Monday September 1 at the Amana RV park in the beautiful Amana Colonies. Events will include Conformation, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Conformation and Obedience fun matches, raffles, a microchip clinic supported by the Cedar Valley Humane Society, as well as many more fun and exciting things. Mark your calenders and join us for a 4 day weekend of enjoyment with man's best friend.
